Darion Movasseghi began playing drums at the age of 5. He began studying with drummer, Cliff Hackford. He performed in both jazz and concert band from elementary school through highschool. At the junior high and highschool levels he achieved perfect and near perfect scores at the NYSSMA competitions, resulting in his acceptance to perform in the All County and All State Jazz and Orchestral Ensembles of New York State. He then began studying music on the college level. Darion, has 25 years of playing experience, 10 of them as a professional. He has spent most of those years performing as a session musician both in live and recorded settings with various artists and performing groups. For the past 10 years in addition to studio work, he has been street performing as a Bucket Drummer in New York City, as well as worldwide in various festivals. His media appearances include, FLEET BANK commercial and a guest performance on “STEVE HARVEY’S BIG TIME.” |

Gary started playing drums at the age of 10. He first learned from a close friend and drummer, Tony Alston. Gary held the drumseat on the junior high level. During highschool he played with the jazz ensemble for two years. From highschool he played with various bands in the Philadelphia, PA area. In 1991 Gary moved to New York City to pursue his dream. Undecided of what direction to take. Gary looked into acting, modeling and hairstyling. Fifteen years later, he has been featured as a hairstylist on shows such as Ricki Lake, Maury Povich, Queen Latifah and The View. Gary has also barbered for various celebrities including Jason Kidd, Freddie Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, Andre Harell and Lloyd Boston to name a few. Gary has also taught hairstyling at LIBS Academy in New York. Staying true to himself, Gary has promised to never stop pursuing drumming. Over the years he has played with various artists and performing groups such as Stranded and the Loose Poets to name a couple. Here are some of the venues where Gary has performed: BB Kings NYC, the Village Vanguard, Cafe Wha?. Lizard Lounge, Soul Cafe, Sugar, etc. During this time Gary started a production company with his brother and began learning more about the business and digital side of the music industry, but still Gary wanted more. So Gary decided to see what he was made of and took his act to the streets of NYC. After three years of street performing with various musicians. Gary came across Drummer/Percussionist Darion "Big D" Movasseghi. Together they formed the NYC Players to begin a journey that would and continues to mesmorize the world!!! |
